Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 20, 2026

This policy explains what YourFic collects when you use the service, how that information is used, and who processes it on our behalf. YourFic is operated by [OWNER DECISION REQUIRED: legal business name].

1. Information we collect

Account information

  • Email address and password credentials, handled by our authentication provider (Supabase). We never see your password.
  • Display name you choose, and the Google account email if you sign in with Google.
  • Your acceptance of the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, including the version and timestamp.

Payment information

Subscriptions are processed by Stripe. Card numbers are entered directly into Stripe's checkout and are never stored on YourFic's systems. We store the Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, your plan, subscription status, billing period dates and whether the subscription is set to cancel.

Prompts and story-generation data

YourFic does store the creative input you submit. When you create or continue a story we save your request — universe, characters, original-character details, tropes, point of view, tone, format, length, your 18+ selection and the idea you typed — together with the generation instructions produced from it. We also maintain an internal continuity record for each series so later chapters stay consistent. This is necessary for your library, continuations, regenerations and support.

Generated stories

Generated titles and story text are stored in your account so you can read, continue, copy and download them. Stories are private to your account; access is restricted at the database level.

Usage and credit information

We record credit consumption, free and subscription balances, billing period usage, generation job records and automatic credit refunds for failed generations.

Device, log and analytics information

Our hosting, authentication and payment providers process technical data such as IP address, browser and device information, timestamps and error logs to deliver and secure the service. We also keep application error reports for debugging.

2. Cookies and similar technologies

We use browser storage and cookies that are necessary to run the service: keeping you signed in, remembering an in-progress generation so you don't lose it on refresh, and security measures used by Stripe during checkout. We do not use advertising cookies. [OWNER DECISION REQUIRED] If you later add analytics or marketing trackers, this section and any consent banner requirements must be updated.

3. How we use information

  • To create and secure your account and sign you in.
  • To generate, save, continue and regenerate your stories.
  • To maintain story continuity across chapters in a series.
  • To track credits, enforce plan limits and process automatic refunds for failed generations.
  • To take payment and manage subscriptions through Stripe.
  • To provide support, investigate abuse and enforce our policies.
  • To diagnose errors and improve reliability.
  • To meet legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not publish your stories.

4. Service providers who process data

  • Supabase — authentication, database and hosting of your account, stories, prompts and credit records.
  • Stripe — subscription payments, billing portal and payment-related communications.
  • Anthropic (Claude) — the AI model that generates story text. Your prompt content and the continuity context needed for the chapter are sent to the model provider to produce output.
  • n8n — the automation service that runs our generation workflow and passes your request to the AI provider and the result back to YourFic.
  • Google — only if you choose Google sign-in.

These providers process data on our instructions to deliver the service. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or users, or in connection with a business transfer. [ATTORNEY REVIEW REQUIRED] Confirm processor list, sub- processor disclosures and any international transfer language you need.

5. Data retention

We keep your account, stories, prompts, continuity records and credit history for as long as your account exists, because the service depends on them. Billing records may be kept longer where tax or accounting law requires it. Retention periods for logs and backups are set by our providers.

[OWNER DECISION REQUIRED] Choose specific retention periods (for example: deleted-account data purged within 30 days, logs kept 90 days, billing records kept 7 years) before publishing.

6. Account deletion

You can ask us to delete your account and its stories by emailing [OWNER DECISION REQUIRED: support email address] from your account address. Deletion removes your profile, stories, prompts and continuity records. Some records — such as payment history held by Stripe — may be retained where the law requires. Cancel any active subscription first so it does not renew.

7. Security

Accounts are protected by authenticated sessions, and story and account data are protected by row-level database policies so one user cannot read another's content. Privileged operations run server-side only, and payment credentials are handled by Stripe. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to complain to a data-protection authority. To exercise a right, email [OWNER DECISION REQUIRED: support email address]. We will verify your request through your account email. [ATTORNEY REVIEW REQUIRED] Confirm which regimes apply to you (for example GDPR/UK GDPR or US state privacy laws) and add the required disclosures.

9. Children's privacy and age restrictions

YourFic is not intended for children. The minimum age for an account is [OWNER DECISION REQUIRED: minimum age to use YourFic — 13+ / 16+ / 18+], and the optional 18+ writing mode is for adults aged 18 or over only. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone below our minimum age; if we learn that we have, we will delete the account. See our Acceptable Use & Content Policy for content rules involving minors.

10. Changes to this policy

We will post updates on this page with a new effective date, and we will tell you about material changes in the app or by email.
